There is a great informative website on the internet with a 'vast directory of over 1000 coffeeshops, smartshops, growshops and headshops throughout the Netherlands'. It is called The Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory. You won't just find a list with coffeeshops and addresses, no the webmaster of this site, Lemming, actually visited many of them himself and wrote nice reviews, often including pictures of the outside and the interior. In this area there are numerous bars, restaurants and yes, also coffeeshops, including some of the best in the city. If you want to go out in Amsterdam you shouldn't miss this part, actually it's almost impossible to miss it.
