Schiphol is the largest airport in the Netherlands, it is located just about 20 to 30 minutes from downtown Amsterdam, thanks to a great transportation system. Airport Schiphol has also been rewarded with several prices, currently it holds the title of 'best airport of Europe'. Many people associate the medieval era with knights fighting against dragons to rescue a young maiden. In fact the mediaval era was just a long period of chaos, diseases and wars. Nevertheless Europe is still characterized by castles, citywalls and old tales of bravery. Some of which can be found a few miles east from Amsterdam, at the Muiderslot. Without them Holland would still have been an area of lakes, with small rivers connecting them through swamps. Ever since they were built, the Dutch landscapes are dominated by them. About one hour by car or train from Amsterdam, you can visit a very long beach, which stretches along the Dutch coastline. On this coastline there are a few old fishing-villages, one of which is Zandvoort. Today Zandvoort is a tourist attraction for beach-loving travelers.
